Asperitas and STECON GROUP partner to accelerate Southeast Asia’s green datacenter future

Amsterdam/Bangkok – 12th November 2025 – Asperitas, the Netherlands-based leader in immersion cooling and thermal management technology for datacenters and compute infrastructure, and STECON GROUP, Thailand-based construction and engineering group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop opportunities to promote and deploy sustainable thermal management solutions across Southeast Asia, one of the world’s fastest-growing digital regions.

The collaboration combines Asperitas’ expertise in immersion cooling with STECONGROUP’s strong regional presence and engineering capabilities. Together, they aim to accelerate the implementation of sustainable, high-performance datacenter infrastructure to support the region’s rapidly growing digital and AI-driven economy. According to the recent BCG report “Accelerating Compute: Needs Underpin Southeast Asia’s Rapid Datacenter Growth”, datacenter demand in Southeast Asia is expected to triple by 2030 — reaching 5.2GW to 6.5 GW. This surge will be driven by continued digitization, expanding regional connectivity and the rapid acceleration of AI adoption.

With Asperitas immersion cooling, datacenters can achieve a high standard of energy efficiency performance with a potential PUE below 1.1 while using a fully closed-loop water system. This enables operators to meet local investment promotions and regulations, like the revised Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) datacenter criteria for both energy and water efficiency, while supporting the deployment of advanced compute infrastructure. As a result, datacenter developers and investors can qualify for the top-tier, 8-year Corporate Income Tax (CIT) exemption.

The companies will jointly explore market opportunities, engage with potential customers and partners, and outline a roadmap for long-term collaboration. This initiative is designed to help datacenters adopt immersion cooling, so they can run more efficiently, be more environmentally sustainable and ready for high-density and performance compute applications.

Rutger de Haij, Asperitas CEO said:

“This collaboration marks an important milestone in Asperitas’ international growth strategy,” said Asperitas CEO Rutger de Haij. “Southeast Asia is one of the fastest-growing digital infrastructure regions globally, and partnering with STECON GROUP provides a strong foundation to expand our footprint and deliver innovative, sustainable thermal management solutions for datacenters and AI driven compute infrastructure.”

Rutger de Haij, CEO of Asperitas, and Ekachai Nitasanajarukul, Chief Strategy and New Business Officer of STECON GROUP, during the MoU signing ceremony in Bangkok.

Siya Tansamrit, Deputy Chief Strategy & New Business Officer from STECON GROUP adds:

“At STECON GROUP, we believe the future of construction and infrastructure depends on integrating advanced technologies that improve both performance and sustainability. Our collaboration with Asperitas marks a significant step toward enabling datacenters that are more energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, and future-ready.”

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to develop commercial strategies, evaluate regional needs, and explore deeper cooperation, including potential operations and partnerships with research and industry stakeholders.

Both parties aim to build on this initial collaboration to define a long-term partnership framework supporting Asperitas’ regional growth. The collaboration followed the initial investment announcement from STECON GROUP venture arm STECX Ventures back in September.
