Asperitas has renewed and elevated its collaboration with Shell under a Recommended Partner designation, reflecting a partnership in place since 2019, with Shell Ventures participating as a shareholder in Asperitas.
The renewal confirms continued technical alignment between the two companies and provides a clear framework for ongoing collaboration. The agreement remains explicitly non-exclusive, reflecting the open-ecosystem approach shared by both Asperitas and Shell.
“Elevating our collaboration with Shell underscores our shared commitment to validated, high-performance liquid cooling solutions for data centers and edge computing, while staying true to an open and flexible ecosystem that drives industry progress."
— Rutger de Haij, CEO, Asperitas
“Our renewed collaboration with Asperitas reflects our shared ambition to accelerate high‑performance, energy‑efficient cooling technologies for data centers worldwide. By combining Asperitas’ innovation with Shell’s fluid technology expertise, we’re supporting customers on their journey to scalable, energy efficient digital infrastructure. Shell is pleased to continue our work with Asperitas and look forward to sharing their successes."
— Jason Wong, EVP Global Lubricants, Shell
As part of this collaboration, Asperitas retains reseller rights for Shell Immersion Cooling Fluids, which remain part of Asperitas’ commercial offering as standard. This ensures commercial consistency alongside continued system-level integration and validation.
Shell products will continue to be used within Asperitas’ laboratories as part of the company’s technological roadmap, supporting product development, testing, and continuous system validation. These activities focus on the performance and reliability of Asperitas’ immersion cooling solutions under representative operating conditions.
Beyond this, Asperitas and Shell will continue to support the broader immersion cooling ecosystem. This includes collaboration with OEMs and ecosystem partners on technical enablement, validation frameworks, and alignment at system level.
The renewed Recommended Partner status confirms Shell as a validated and recommended partner within this framework, while preserving a flexible and open approach to ecosystem development and ongoing technology innovation.
